SareeSnap ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the SareeSnap mobile app, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information we collect
- Account information: If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address, display name, and profile photo from your sign-in provider.
- Saree images: Photos you take or upload for scanning are sent to our cloud servers for AI analysis. Images are stored in Firebase Storage and linked to your account so you can view them across devices.
- Scan results: The weave type, region, authenticity score, estimated price, and other analysis output produced for each scan.
- Collection data: Sarees you save to your personal collection, including any names, tags, notes, and purchase information you add.
- Purchase records: If you buy credit packs or subscriptions, the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing. We receive confirmation that a purchase occurred and update your scan balance accordingly.
- Device information: We use anonymous Firebase Authentication to identify your device until you sign in. This generates a randomly assigned user ID stored on your device.
How we use your information
- To provide saree identification, authenticity analysis, and pricing estimates.
- To save your scan history and collection across devices when you sign in.
- To process purchases and grant scan credits or subscription benefits.
- To improve our AI models by analysing scan accuracy on aggregate (we do not use your photos for marketing or share them with third parties for advertising).
- To respond to support requests you send us.
Third-party services we use
- Anthropic Claude API: We send your saree photos to Anthropic's Claude AI for analysis. Anthropic processes the image to return weave identification and authenticity assessment. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing: anthropic.com/privacy.
- Google Firebase: Authentication, Firestore database, Storage, and Cloud Functions are hosted on Google Firebase. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.
- RevenueCat: Subscription and in-app purchase management. RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Google Play Billing: Processes all payments. We never see or store your payment card details.
Data retention and deletion
Your scan history and saved collection are retained as long as your account exists. You can:
- Delete individual scans or sarees from within the app.
- Request full account deletion by emailing us — this removes your authentication record, all scan history, collection data, and uploaded images within 30 days.
Children's privacy
SareeSnap is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act, or other data protection laws. These rights include:
- Access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion of your data.
- Withdrawal of consent for processing.
- Data portability (a copy of your data).

Service description
SareeSnap uses AI to identify Indian sarees from photos, estimate their authenticity, and suggest a fair market price range. All analysis is AI-generated and provided for informational purposes only. SareeSnap does not provide a guarantee of authenticity, and price estimates are not appraisals. For high-value or heirloom sarees, please consult a qualified textile expert.
Acceptable use
You agree to use SareeSnap only for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
- Use the app for unlawful purposes.
- Submit images that infringe on others' copyrights or rights of publicity.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our AI prompts or business logic.
- Use automated tools to access the service.
In-app purchases
Credit packs are non-refundable consumables. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled through your Google Play account. Refund policies are governed by Google Play.
Limitation of liability
SareeSnap is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any financial loss resulting from authenticity assessments or price estimates produced by the app. Always verify high-value purchases independently.
